Ban the Wipes!

Ladies, our face is very important to us. We kind of need it for the rest of our lives. So why are we ruining it by not taking care of our skin? Some of us do, but there are some things you may not know about the products you are using.

Makeup remover wipes are not the best solution to take your makeup off.

Some makeup remover wipes are not made with material that is kind to your skin. I am not talking about the makeup remover, I am talking about the wipes themselves. Some of them have wood-by products in them that when you use them, they create microscopic abrasions on your face, and they pull your skin more than just using a face wash to remove your makeup. YIKES! That means more wrinkles and more face problems sooner than you would hope ):

I know that makeup wipes are so much easier sometimes, we all have those lazy days, but your skin is so important!!!!!!!!

AND WHATEVER YOU DO, DON'T YOU DARE TAKE YOUR MAKEUP OFF WITH BABY WIPES. DON'T. DON'T.

seriously. The alcohol in the wipes is SO BAD for your face.

Now, don't worry! I am here to give you some fabulous alternatives to makeup remover wipes (:

Aveeno Positively Radiant Brightening Cleanser

This is my favorite product to use to take off my makeup, because it's a makeup remover and a face wash, so you can take two tasks and turn them into one (: This doesn't irritate my sensitive skin at all, and I can rub all my eye makeup off without any problems. Definitely a much better alternative to wipes!
Pond's Cold Cream

Cold Cream used to be super popular back in the day, but it seems to have gone under the radar now, which I don't understand why. Seriously, this can take off ANY makeup. I use this to take off my stage makeup, and it takes it off no problem. Plus, it has a cooling component to it, so it calms your skin while you are taking your makeup off. You do need to wash your face after using cold cream though because it can make your skin oily, and you don't want that to set in! But, if you have makeup that's difficult to get off, or you want to get your makeup off really well, then you definitely should invest in some cold cream. (plus, most drugstores, well, at least the one I work at, have a generic version that works just as well, so you can save some money!)

Now, if you don't listen to me, and you still insist on using wipes, here's my recommendation to you:

Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes

Simple face products are designed for people who have sensitive skin, so your face won't be as damaged if you use these. However, I still think that you should try some other options for makeup remover first before you make your final decision on how to take off your makeup. Trust me, you will be glad you did in about 30 years (:

What are some products you like to use to take of your makeup? I would love to know (:

Review: Maybelline Color Whispers Lipstick

Hey beauties! It's time for my first makeup review! I will tell you what the product is, my thoughts on it, and my overall ratings. My rating scale is:
walk on by: I did not enjoy this product, and you should walk on by when you are in the store.
worth a try: Not my favorite thing, but it's worth a try so you can get your own opinion.
wanna buy: You definitely should buy this product!
BB potential: BB, or Beauty Basic product potential.

Maybelline Color Whispers Lipstick

my version, in Petal Rebel, #60

For starters, I just have to say that I don't ever wear lipstick. Chapstick is a bit iffy sometimes with me. I just always forget to put something on my lips. That being said, I have been wanting to try wearing lipstick more often, so I purchased the Color Whisper as a starter.
For a starter lipstick, I love it. The color is very light, and is also very buildable. You can make the color as intense as you would like. It also has a very watery texture to it, so it is very lightweight to wear. The con of this is that it doesn't last long, so you need to reapply often.
Overall, I do like this lipstick, but I am not sure that I am going to love it enough to start wearing lipstick on a daily basis.
rating: worth a try

Have you tried this yet? How did you like it? Let me know (:

*I am not associated with the companies in any way, just showing my opinion*

Hey! Welcome!

Hey beauties! Welcome to my blog! I am so happy you are here! I am really excited to start this project with you, it has been something I have wanted for quite a while. So, let's start by me introducing myself to you!
My name is Kaitlyn, and I live in Washington State. (I would tell you the city, but since it isn't Seattle you would probably have no idea where it is). I am twenty years old and am currently enrolled in college to become a theatre teacher. I have been obsessed with all things hair and makeup and beauty since I can remember. I love the ability to transform myself however I choose to on a day to day basis. I have two dogs, which I love deeply, a wonderful family, and an amazing boyfriend of almost two years. I love giraffes, Katy Perry, and watching tv shows on Netflix.
Now that you know a little about me, let's get to talking about this blog and how it will work!
I have a lot of ideas that I want to try out, so I will try to explain them as I go on. Basically, here are some key points of what you can expect here.
- instagram feed of pictures
- reviews of makeup
- hair/makeup tutorials
- videos
- anything else that may come to mind (:

I am really excited to figure this all out, so bear with me as we work this out together!
